Last minute reminder

Just a quick post to remind cubs who are camping the arrangements and what they might need.
Meet @ Silverwood Scout Camp off the A628 between Dodworth and Silkstone 12 o’clock Saturday pick up 12 o’clock Sunday.

Cubs are required to arrive on site in full uniform!!!!!!

What They need:

Packed lunch for Saturday dinner.

Any medication to be handed to a leader clearly marked with name and dose.

· Plate, dish & mug (unbreakable)
· Knife, fork & spoon
· Tea-towel
· Sleeping Bag
· Camping Mat (Optional)
· Torch (with spare batteries)

· Comb/Brush
· Soap/Shower Gel
· Flannel
· Toothbrush & toothpaste
· Towel (small hand)
· Sun-block/Sun-screen to suit skin-type
· Deodorant

· Hat or Cap (for sun protection)
· Jumpers/ fleece (for evening)
· Long trousers
· Pyjamas/nightwear
· Underwear
· Shorts
· T-shirt
· Trainers / (sturdy shoes or boots if they have)

Can you try and label your childs belongings (especially uniform) with their name.

Scout Raft Race - 27 June

This year marks the welcome return of the Fitzwilliam District Raft Race, which is to be held on the River Dearne at Broomhill on Sunday 27th June. Rafts will be built on the day using traditional scouting skills, such as lashings. Trophies will be awarded for Best Constructed Raft and Fastest Raft. Raft building will take place in the morning, with racing commencing at 1pm. We will be looking for a team of 4 scouts to take part.

Please meet on the Transpennine Trail opposite Tesco carpark at 10am on Saturday. The path to the duckpond is almost all tarmac so trainers will be fine. Wear uniform and bring a coat depending on the weather. I've ordered sunshine for the morning! No money is needed and I'll supply refreshments and bread for the ducks. We have enough Leaders but parents please feel free to join us as well. Collect Beavers from the starting point about 12 noon.


A fantastic response this month. I got all subs except for 8 people who were absent on the night so I can forget about them now until next month. Thanks very much - this is really helping. Don't forget to collect any change if you didn't send the correct amount.


Just a reminder that the Gala isn't far away now and we still need any donations and contributions you might have please. Bottles, toiletries, chocolates, biscuits, sweets, prizes, good quality books, crockery that needs smashing, gift items would be most welcome. Could you also let me know if you will be able to send in/bake buns, scones and cakes to sell. Thanks a lot
