Just to reminder those Scouts and Explorers going on this weekend's camp - you need to bring your permission to camp form and £12 camp fee to Scouts this Wednesday.
And for the older Scouts and Explorers who are hiking to the camp site - you know who you are: You need to bring your rucksack to Scouts this week.

Explorers Expedition Prep - 11th to 12th March 2011
5 Explorers took a couple of hours to review some first aid basics and refreshed their map reading and navigation skills on Friday evening.
The presentation for the Navigation Skills Refresher can be found here.
More information can be found at
ScoutBase Resources
Ordnance Survey
In addition I've found this great web application on how to use a map and compass
The videos from the presentation can be found here
On Saturday we all enjoyed a walk around Cawthorne, following this route. The Explorers, carrying full ruck sacks took turns in navigating us all round the route, bringing us back to Cawthorne Park where they expertly cooked bacon sandwiches on Trangias (Meths camp cooking stoves)
All in all a very good way to enjoy the start of a weekend. Thanks to all those who participated, you did yourselves proud.
