National Coal Mining Museum

23 Cubs and Scouts made the short trip to Overton near Wakefield on Saturday.  As well as enjoying the exhibitions, the adventure playground, the nature walk all of the group made the trip down the mine.  The tour guides were very informative and they made the day very enjoyable.

After handing in all the items that might cause an explosion, including my camera :-( we were adorned with a helmet and a miners light.

I couldn't take any pictures whilst on the underground  tour but here are some of the few snaps that we did manage to take. The cubs and younger scouts were already down the mine when the camera came out, sorry if we missed you!
